Marshfield Rotary members recently joined forces with the community for a high-energy evening of service at the annual Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) MobilePack event. This local tradition continues to prove that a few hours of teamwork can change lives across the globe.
In just one 90-minute shift our group and fellow participants packaged enough meals to feed 73 children one meal every single day for an entire year. The atmosphere was electric- filled with music and cheering as we assembled MannaPack rice meals. This impactful project has become a staple in Marshfield thanks to the dedication of Shannon and Toni Neinast, who have been instrumental in bringing FMSC to our city.
While the packing itself was a hands-on success, the mission is not complete until the fundraising goal is met. Because each life-saving meal costs only $0.29, even a small contribution can have a massive impact on a child's life. Currently, the community is working toward a target that would provide enough food to support 426 children for an entire year. A donation of $106 feeds a child for a full year, while $424 can provide food stability for an entire family.
Beyond the statistics, this shift was a powerful reminder of why we joined Rotary. It was fun, energetic, and deeply meaningful work that connected us through a shared purpose. We are proud to support this long-standing Marshfield tradition and play a small part in the global fight against hunger.
