Marshfield Rotary welcomed Joshua Miller to share how the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) supports local economic growth. As a Regional Economic Development Director of the WEDC he works to build and maintain relationships with businesses, communities, economic development organizations, nonprofits, and other regional partners throughout Central Wisconsin. He serves as a local resource, helping stakeholders navigate available funding programs, technical assistance, and economic development services. Whether a company is considering an expansion, a municipality is pursuing a development project, or a nonprofit is exploring funding opportunities, he helps identify relevant tools and resources that support their goals and move their projects forward. He serves as WEDC's regional representative for Adams, Clark, Lincoln, Marathon, Portage, and Wood counties.
WEDC is Wisconsin's lead economic development organization, providing programs and assistance that help businesses start, grow, and invest in the state. The organization also supports community development efforts through initiatives focused on workforce attraction, downtown revitalization, site development, and infrastructure improvements. Through grants, tax credits, loans, and other assistance programs, WEDC collaborates with local governments, educational institutions, economic development organizations, and private-sector employers to strengthen Wisconsin's economy.
